The Cockpit
The LX 9070 is a larger version of the well-known LX9000 with an extremely bright, 7” colour display. It excels together with the V8 variometer. A very large anti-glare screen brings a lot of comfort during the flight and fits into all common gliders. An automatic light sensor adjusts the brightness and optimizes the power consumption.
Of course, all extra’s and conveniences of the modern LX9070 computer are installed:
- LX9070 with V8 Variometer

- Leather Remote Control Stick
- WiFi interface
- Gear-, Airbrake and Water-Sensors
- MOP Means of Propulsion Sensor for JET
Installed is a S100 backup variometer and flight recorder, connected to it’s own individual MOP sensor.

The JS3 is equipped with the safety-enhancing CanopyFlasher Visual Awareness Light System (Haubenblitzer) from AeroFlash.
An easy-to-use JET engine control. One rotary knob with pushbutton controls the throttle. Compact size, with sunlight readable display. Contains various safety and (fire) warning features tuned for maximum user safety.
There is no increase in workload, only a single switch and throttle dial, and there is no noticeable performance loss with the jet extended.
The efficiency of the Turbo Jet increases with altitude. With a saw tooth flying profile at an altitude of 2000m (±6560ft) a range of 240 km (149 miles) can be obtained with the JS1 and 150 km (93 miles) with the JS3.
Maximum Power is achieved in less than 40 seconds from deployment of the system.
AIR Control Display
AIR Control Display is the newly designed multi function display from AIR Avionics. It controls aircraft radios, is a fully certified altimeter, and controls transponders. Air Control Display works well with many aircraft radios and Mode-S/ADS-B transponders.
AIR COM Radio Module
AIR COM is the next generation radio module with 8.33kHz channel spacing. It offers amazing functions in a small and lightweight form factor. It is controlled by an AIR Control Display, can be mounted on the control display or installed remotely using cable connections.
VT-01 XPDR Module
The VT-01 transponder is a modern Mode-S/ADS-B transponder for remote installation in a compact form factor. Two output power classes are available. The VT-01 is the flexible transponder and a cost effective solution for any type of aircraft.
Thats right. We said altimeter.
AIR Control Display is a fully ETSO certified primary altimeter. If space is an issue, you can use the altimeter function in parallel to COM, XPDR, or both. This not only saves you one entire instrument worth of panel space, but it also offers better readability and reliability compared to most mechanical altimeter systems.
Our JS3 is fitted with the factory original garage-type bugwipers and the CuttingEdge next generation smart bugwiper system with automatic and manual modes.
All these powerful avionics are powered by two strong 15Ah AIRNERGY LiFePO4 batteries with individual avionic busses for redundancy and load-shedding. No chance to run out of juice…
If you do; there’s a spare 20Ah AIRNERGY LFP battery included as well which can be inserted in the oxygen bottle holder.
Optionally a National Parachute Industries “Flat” back parachute can be rented. This is the newest development from National Parachute. The National Flat has a uniform thickness from top to bottom. It’s ideal for cockpits with limited space and larger pilots.

The Equipment
JS-MD Turbo Jet System
For most pilots it is becoming important to have the reassurance that they will be able to land back home, especially after very long flights or a fierce competition day. The JS-MD partnership boasts a modern solution for this, matching the performance of a jet engine with a high performance sailplane.
This lightweight solution of only 17kg has no noticeable increase drag or decrease in the gliding ratio, an extremely intuitive and user-friendly user interface while giving great climb or straight line performance.
With the flick of a switch, you will become a jet pilot.
A Cobra Trailer probably does not need an introduction. Well known as being robust, stable behind the car, user-friendly and streamlined. What more can you ask for?
Perhaps the modifications that we did? Inside is a 50Ah LFP solar battery with 12V power ports for charging, filling water, internal LED lights.
We use rigid and reliable ground handling equipment from Spindelberger Cobra and our partner SoaringXX;
- 2 Wing-stands (Spindelberger Cobra)

Our JS3 is equipped with Clouddancers Uncutable™ Allweather Covers. Included are both the 15m and 18m wingtip covers. For many years we’ve been a satisfied user of Clouddancers. So satisfied, that we are a business partner.
A canopy cover and tie-down equipment are also included.

We understand that when you’re renting a top class competition glider for an important championship, you don’t want the stress of fixing or replacing something broken. Sometimes this is unavoidable. We tried to make it a bit more comfortable…
We include the following spare parts and tools:
- Box with minor spare parts like o-rings
- Spare tailwheel + tube
- 12V tire inflator and fuselage lifting airbag
We do however suggest you to bring your own toolbox with wrenches, spanners, screwdrivers, etc.
